I've been thinking about creating a blog for a while now about something I find interesting. I considered cooking and I even created a blog for it, but never actually got past my first post.
Then I thought perhaps I'd do a crafty blog. However, I am not that crafty and I would simply be stealing from others blogs. Negative to the crafty blog.
Now, as I sit in my living room on this 80 degree day and consider the 110+ degree days that are in store in the near future, I notice that as soon as my A/C turns off, it's as though I can feel the heat radiating through my sliding glass window coming to get me. As I stare at the window with disgust I consider how much I dislike the hanging blinds that provide little, if any, insulation at all. Below is the style of window treatment I currently have.
Given that I had spent the previous hour looking for a fun inspiring project to spend my free time (ha!) on, it took me no time to decide on creating insulated curtains.
And I now have a purpose to my blog! I am going to share with any readers I get all of my steps and projects towards living a greener life on a budget and with limited time!
Currently, I have many small changes that I have made in my day to day life that I will get to. But I still don't do as much as I would like. It is my hope that through this blog I will inspire myself to make more steps towards a greener life and also inspire my family and friends to make some steps as well.
First, it is time to hit the books. Specifically a book that Jeanette gave me for Christmas '09 for some green inspiration!
As I begin this blog, I have 2 simple disclaimers for everyone...
1. Just like most in the world, my free time is limited. Between a full time job, my full life job (aka, Mommy) and twins on the way, I will somehow hopefully find a way to post something new every week. We will see how successful I am at that one!
2. As most of you know, I majored in math. While this has given me a wonderful ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers forwards backwards and upside down. It did leave me lacking a bit in the grammar and spelling fields (yes, I failed the GWPE the first time!). Please excuse ahead of time all my grammatical and spelling mistakes to come!
I'll post my new blogs on facebook so my friends know when to expect them! Hope everyone enjoys!
